Join us for another free Saturday afternoon film and right-to-die discussion led by Faye Girsh. Our June selection is the recently-released documentary, Last Flight Home.
Filmmaker Ondi Timoner documented the last days of her father, Eli Timoner, a dedicated husband, father, and entrepreneur who founded the airline Air Florida in the 1970s. Paralyzed and bedridden, Eli decided to medically terminate his life under California’s End of Life Option Act. During the 15-day waiting period, the film chronicles Eli’s goodbyes to those closest to him as he helps them prepare for his departure. While his loved ones look back on Eli’s successes and devastating blows, they struggle to reconcile his choice. Last Flight Home is an intimate family story you won’t want to miss.
We will show the film and have an open discussion. The library provides plenty of free parking in their adjacent lot and we’ll provide light refreshments. Bring a carload of family and friends to this free event. We hope to see you there!
