Hemlock Circles are small gatherings focused on end-of-life issues.

Hemlock Circles channel the power of community  into open, thoughtful dialogue about end-of-life issues wherever you are. Our members have opportunity to connect more personally, learn from each other, and explore the many facets of what it means to live and die with dignity

Hemlock Circle Basics

Any member can start a Hemlock Circle in their community; and anyone, member or not, can join a Circle. Circles are small, with 8 to 10 members. With Hemlock’s support and guidance, Circle Leaders schedule and lead gatherings for their group.

There are no restrictions on the type of Hemlock Circle you can form or rules about how you meet. Form a bookclub, watch Zoom events together, discuss developments in the right to die movement — the choice is yours!

Why Join a Hemlock Circle?

  • Connect: Share some time with like-minded individuals in open, honest discussions about end-of-life care and choices.
  • Learn: Benefit from the diverse experiences and knowledge within your Circle.
  • Support: Give and receive support in a group that believes in the importance of planning for the end-of-life.
